JUST 60 SECONDS.
In all seriousness I want to talk about something that's been on my mind lately. Life can be pretty difficult to manage at times - even when you look onto what you've got in life and think: "Well, rationally, I'm a lot better off than others, it could be worse...." sometimes there's just this void you feel is closing in on you, a void that makes you question your purpose in life, the world you and I live in... Perhaps a higher meaning than getting up, going to work, going through your every day routine going to bed, waking up and staring all over.
You have friends, you have family, a job, education, a flat, enough money to live a nice life - but it still feels empty somehow.
You turn on the news and all you see is anxiety, fear, desperation. You see wars going on, people who have rational reasons to feel lost, displaced.
I've been thinking, time after time, asing myself: "Why are these things happening?", feeling like shit not being able to actively do something. Working out plans of how I can contribute to making the world a better place. But I have come to realize, that we CAN make a difference, we CAN and we WILL make the world a better place.
We shouldn't be too hard on ourselves thinking we aren't allowed to feel sad at times, maybe even angry. It's okay. It's omay because we're human, it's natural, it's what makes us who we are. All the emotions - the good, the bad... they all make up who we are as individuals. It's just important that we don't let ourselves get sucked in the bad. We can't expect from ourselves that we can single-handedly change the world, feed it, bring peace, solve religious, or territorial conflicts. But it's not about us alone, we CAN contribute to healing the world by starting with ourselves, loving ourselves, embracing others in love. Ask yourself, when was the last time you sad something really nice to a stranger? Something little like: "Hey, I really like your coat, where'd you get it?", or "You have a great day today, enjoy yourself!".
Think about what it would mean to you. Think about how you would feel when you had a really shitty day and someone was nice to you, for no reason in particular. Feels good doesn't it?
So I'd like to wish you all, no matter where you are, how bad your day was... I wish you a really awesome day, I wish you to take just one minute, just 60 seconds to close your eyes and think about the beautiful things in your life and share that beauty with someone else.

FIELDTRIP: AMSTERDAM
The Crew of Nanalovesit. did a little fieldtrip to the Amsterdam fleamarket at the "IJ Hallen". It was simply AWESOME! Everyone who loves fleamarkets should go there at LEAST once a year. Especially due to the atmosphere, it becomes a very special and just simply "feel good" trip.
WHO THE FUDGE IS HEINZ?
Well, what can I say - Since we're a team of 3 people which 2 of are MEN - we kinda figured it was pretty unfair to only post about women's clothing. And since the guys here have a great taste in fashion and we don't think it's necessary to post exclusively about ONE thing only, we're keeping it fair! So enjoy, we jope you'll love it as much as we do.
ON THE WATCH.
I just bought this watch for my brother's 18th birthday, I think he was really excited but the only problem was: I REALLY wanted to keep it myself -.- BUT eventually I parted from this beautiful piece of jewelery with a brand new epiphany! Let aside the haute couture and prêt-a-porter fashion world and ask yourself what real chance do men REALLY have to wear jewelery? ( insert answer here:________)
... yeah, I kinda thought so. Unless you're really an "over-the-top-fashion-victim" ( and I really, really don't mean this to be offensive in ANY way what so ever), or living in some mind blowing fashion metropole OR in Skandinavia, then you (as a man) are a bit limited in your every day accessoirs life.
David and I were talking about this the other day and, it's not that we from Nana loves it. don't think it's awesome for men to wear well-portioned, beautiful jewelery as a man, it's just that you don't see AS MANY self-conscious fashionable men, as you do women.
A watch is somehow still a man's flagship, it can make an entire outfit go from "HELL YEAH" to "HELL NO".
I'm not going to start this debate on "negative" connotations about men and fashion in a post, simply, because we don't want our readers to misunderstand us and drag this into a semi- political debate. All we want, is for fashion to be seen as what it is: A beautiful, ideal way of expressing yourself, your taste and love for fashion without being judged, or put into a box.
TO BE OR NOT TO BE.
Indeed... the most stereotypical headline we could think of... but I mean, come on... I ALWAYS wanted to say that! At least in a half way meaningful context. Let's face it, it DOES always feels slightly awkward when you burst into a party yelling "TO BEEE OR NOT TO BEEEE THAT IS THE QUESTION!" (awkward silence)
Truth be told, I still really do have this fable for weird human body parts props. Is it a little less crepy when I say it's a piggy bank? .... nawww, not really.
BUBBLE UP.
Just came back from an awesome day in the beautiful town of "Muenster" where we visited an art exhibition and auction - but yet didn't purchase any pieces ourselves ;D It was quite a rainy, drizzly day at the harbor, which is the reason why I kinda might have stolen my boyfriend's waxed jacket.... what? Don't give me that look.... it's warm and dry. Sooooo gals, if you really crave that boyfriend look, go through your bf's closet, or even better at times: your dad's. (Given the case he's not like a trizillion times bigger than you ;D)

IT'S TRICKY
After being in New York City for about 2 months straight with my wonderful companion, friend and better half of the blog, Philipp Thater, we've done our very best to get as much fresh input as NYC had to offer. (Shit loads.) As a German blogger, it's quite difficult to get in touch with a blogosphere, simply because it doesn't really exist here in Germany. We've had quite a rough ride trying our best to establish our blog here, while in the states, it just came naturally.
I really haven't been taking enough care of my beloved blog, partly, because I'm working on my BA thesis which is about: Yeah, you got it... FASHION BLOGS (ta-daaaaa). So you could kinda say, that everyone else's blogs where more important than my own.
I'm going to do my best to write and communicate more with you guys, everyone who's stayed true to us, even when we weren't being faithful to our own work.
Luvz y'all! :D Nana
:D Nana
